“When thinking about my activity on Instagram and other social media, I realized I have almost completely stopped taking pictures of myself. I am definitely swayed by the photos I see and compare myself to unrealistic ideals, but I have worked to be at a place where I think I’m cute, sexy and beautiful. Despite that I feel like I don’t fit an aesthetic that is “good enough” to share on the internet and that’s why I dont post. I guess I have this idea in my head of what aesthetics are worthy of the internet as if it’s a different standard. As if I cannot blend whatever aesthetics I identify with.
